financial literacy program

EVE Residents attend on-going bi-weekly financial literacy courses supported and executed by MAPLE Microdevelopment.  The course includes instructional and experiential education in personal finance, understanding personal and cooperative cash flows, basic accounting/bookkeeping, computer literacy, the use of Quickbooks, participation in a savings group, money management skills and other banking tools, the accumulation and management of personal and community funds, credit rating systems, and development of microbusinesses.  The goal is to ensure all residents can cover unexpected costs when income gaps occur and use skills to gain employment, successfully start small income generating activities, and strengthen skills for self-governance and employment.
